Oversight performed by the citizens' representatives and it monitors the legality of work and the application of the measures of secret information gathering and it also establishes the validity of citizens’ requests. In the Republic of Croatia the Council for the Civilian Oversight of Security and Intelligence Agencies is competent for the civilian oversight and it has 6 members appointed by the Croatian Parliament. Its scope of work and competence are defined by Article 110 – 114 of the Security and Intelligence System Act.
